Southern Maryland Small Fruit Workshop

University of Maryland Extension is partnering with the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC) to offer a one-day workshop on small fruit production. The workshop will be held at the Baden Volunteer Fire Department on March 18 from 8:30 am to 4 pm. There is no charge to attend and a catered lunch will be provided.

The workshop features well known speakers form throughout the region including specialists form Virginia Tech, North Carolina State University and University of Maryland.

Topics include:
 Weed Control in Brambles and Vineyards
 Optimizing the Strawberry Plasticulture System
 Blackberry Production in Warmer Climates
 Identification and Management of Spotted Wing Drosophila
 Putting Together a Comprehensive Disease Control Program
 Wine and Table Grape Varietals for Coastal Plain Soils
