Description: In this 10-part workshop series for beginning farmers, we will explore what it takes to be successful on a small-scale farm. Each session covers topics that apply to a variety of agricultural operations, including vegetable and fruit production. The below topics are proven, essential components for ensuring farm profitability.
Please note, pre-registration is required. You must register at least 1-week before any session you would like to attend. If there are not enough participants registered 1-week prior to a session, the in-person session may be canceled and a remote webcast viewing option will be offered instead.
The series will be held on Wednesdays, 6:30 – 9:00 pm, in the Health Professions and Athletics Center, Room 139, Chesapeake College, 1000 College Cir Wye Mills, MD 21679. Starting January 24, 2018 and ending on March 28, 2018.
$10 per session or $60 for the whole series. Those who register for the entire course will have access to a course website with supplemental lessons. More farmer, extension, and specialist speakers will be announced on this page as they are confirmed.
